On the Shining Sea
On the Shining Sea
A shining sea and distant sky,
A beach with silken sand,
With turquoise waters lapping by,
As ocean meets the land,
Horizon of the great beyond,
The color emerald clear,
A lighthouse in the distance,
Clouds roll by and disappear,
The shining of the emerald waves,
The sun peaks through the sky,
The vastness of the ocean,
Asks not how, what, when or why,
Like glass upon the shoreline,
Is the water's tranquil tide,
For listen does the ocean,
When in presence we abide.
